'H2' copper capillary fittings, manufactured in accordance to BS EN 1254-1, are intended primarily for use in above-ground and below-ground water services and in central heating services where the media concern do not support dezincification. It provides the means of jointing sections of pipework in a variety of sizes and materials, of making terminal connections, and of controlling the flow through the system. Joints are made mechanically the application of heat and solder (for potable water, lead-free solder wire should be used). They are designed for use with copper tubes to BS EN 1057 only.
'H2' copper capillary fittings are manufactured from high quality copper to BS EN 12449 (Cu-DHP-CW024A) to remove effectively any possibility of dezincification - a corrosion process which can attack ordinary duplex brasses under certain service conditions, causing in extreme cases blockage or failure of the fittings.
